The Digipulse™AWD-I 100 PS is an accelerated hammer impact source designed to provide for acquisition of P and S wave seismic data. In the P wave acquisition mode, the 100 PS model operates just like the original Digipulse AWD I system. In the S wave mode, the source can be tilted up to 80 degrees (left and right sides). With the pivot point located at ground level, and using the vehicle rear weight for mass loading, the base plate is securely coupled to the ground for shear wave data acquisition. Supported by a portable gas powered hydraulic motor and pump, the AWD I 100 PS features dual hydraulics to control frame lift and hammer mass operation. The AWD I PS is ideal for both shallow refraction and reflection surveys providing excellent repeatability for signal stacking.
